He is closely associated with a character named Eyes, but their relationship has deteriorated as they have grown older and hold differing views on the fate of Blade Children. Driven by his determination to prove that there is no hope for the Blade Children, Kanone will go to great lengths, including killing those who give them false hope. He sees Ayumu as their only chance at salvation and is willing to work with Hunters to demonstrate their hopelessness. It's mentioned that he learned how to kill at a young age and in chapter 35, he claimed he could eliminate all students in the cafeteria within less than 20 seconds.
