Nobue is the oldest main character and Chika's older sister. She usually has final authority on all matters and often borrows money from Chika to buy cigarettes. Despite being addicted to nicotine, Nobue tries to find a part-time job to earn more money for her addiction. The anime suggests that Nobue derives pleasure from the moe aesthetic, as she prefers Matsuri and Ana over Chika and Miu. In the manga, Nobue is a sixteen-year-old high school freshman, while in the anime, she is a twenty-year-old junior college student due to her smoking and drinking habits becoming legal at age twenty. Although she introduces herself as sixteen in the first episode of the anime, this was intended as a joke, as she quickly states that she's twenty. In the manga, Nobue acts less maturely than in the anime, doing things like tricking Matsuri into thinking Miu is dead. Her appearance changes drastically in the early stages of the manga, especially her hair, which goes from blond to dark brown (and black in the anime).
