When Kanu was young, her village became involved in a violent conflict and eventually turned into a war zone. Her older brother tried to protect her by hiding her while he himself was trapped. Tragically, he was killed right before her eyes. This loss caused Kanu immense pain as she deeply loved and respected him. As a result of this experience, Kanu developed a strong attachment to her brother, which manifested in a big sister complex. The memory of losing those close to her motivated Kanu to journey across the world to prevent others from going through the same anguish she had endured.
