Maylene, スモモ

Maylene is a Gym Leader from Veilstone City who specializes in Fighting-type Pokémon. Her name, which means "melee," refers to her fighting styles. To reach her, players must solve a puzzle and battle gym trainers that focus on Fighting types along the way. Maylene's Pokémon include Meditite (Lv. 27), Machoke (Lv. 27) and Lucario (Lv. 30). She awards the Cobble Badge to those who defeat her. In the game, her father is seen playing at the Casino in Veilstone City, where he describes his daughter as a tough one. Maylene first appeared on DP66, "Lost Leader Strategy," and later battled Dawn using Lucario, Meditite, and Machoke in DP67, "Crossing the Battle Line!". Ash asked for a battle with her immediately, but she refused due to Paul's presence. Maylene also appeared in DP68, "A Triple Fighting Chance!" where Ash won the Cobble Badge after defeating her.
