The son of Carr Benedict and Fiona, who was formerly known as Queen Franchesca of Ixtova, is a 16-year-old prince named Meriel. He has a twin sister named Merielle with whom he frequently argues about firstborn claims. Although he resembles his mother in appearance, he possesses a calm and thoughtful nature and excels at various skills such as cooking, hunting, flying planes, and mastering multiple languages. Due to the "single child" rule of the Ixtovan royal family, Meriel's rank as prince is not publicly known. His family crest features a hawk. He has been acquainted with Lillia since childhood, but he harbors feelings for her that he cannot act upon effectively. Unlike other major characters in this part of the series, Lillia remains unaware of his true identity.
