Uchikoma

The Uchikomas featured in 2nd GIG's last episode are named Uchikomas (ウチコマ), which is similar to the Fuchikoma think-tanks used in the original Ghost In The Shell manga. Their design incorporates elements of both the Tachikoma and Fuchikoma, with features such as faces, abdomens, legs, and thoraxes. During the early stages of Solid State Society, Uchikomas were employed by Section 9 in a manner reminiscent of how un-evolved Tachikomas had been used previously. However, Batou found their lack of reaction to certain situations irritating, as they did not behave like traditional Tachikomas.
