Gokudera was born in Italy and has a mixed heritage with three-quarters Italian and one-quarter Japanese ancestry. He stands at 168 cm tall, weighs 54 kg, and has silver hair. His dream is to become Tsuna's right-hand man. Gokudera possesses the ability to play the piano and dislikes individuals who are older than him, such as Bianchi and Lambo. In school, Hayato is popular among female classmates, who view him as a rebellious badboy. During Valentine's Day, many females tried to give him chocolate, but he seemed more annoyed than flattered by the attention. Despite his image as a rebel, Hayato excels in his studies and consistently aces exams, which may be due to his privileged upbringing with access to private tutors. He greatly admires Tsuna and considers himself his right-hand man. Gokudera experiences severe emotional distress upon seeing the face of his older sister, Bianchi, but he is immune when she wears something that covers part of her face.
