In the anime series Zexal, the main character is named Yuuma Tsukumo. He lives with his older sister and grandmother after losing his parents, who were archaeologists. Despite this tragedy, Yuuma remains an energetic and happy child who values fairness and cares for his friends. His father left him a deck of cards as well as a mysterious necklace that holds many secrets. Although he lacks parental guidance, Yuuma never gives up on his dreams and strives to become the world champion of dueling. However, his lack of experience in card playing often puts him at a disadvantage, causing him to face tough opponents such as Shark Ryouga. To help him achieve his goal, he teams up with Astral, a mysterious dueling genius who tries to assist Yuuma but is often ignored due to Yuuma's extreme stubbornness and pride. Despite their conflicting personalities, Yuuma must learn to work with Astral in order to become a successful dueler.
