Pikachu is an Electric Type mouse Pokemon that was given to Ash by Professor Oak due to being late for their first day of training. Initially, Pikachu shied away from Ash and shocked him whenever he could. However, after Ash saved him from wild Spearows, the two formed a strong bond. Despite not liking to be kept inside his Pokeball, Pikachu often rode on Ash's shoulder as they traveled together.
