Romeo's closest friend is Curio. He doesn't enjoy fighting and often serves as the voice of reason during heated moments. Unlike many others in Verona, he genuinely cares about Romeo's well-being. After their families are stripped of their nobility and forced into hiding, Curio reluctantly provides them with shelter. As a nobleman, Curio lacks experience with manual labor, so he is initially hesitant to take on any physical tasks. However, after the assassination attempt on Romeo, Curio tells him that he will be waiting for the day when he becomes Duke of Verona and can restore peace to the city. Additionally, Curio takes care of his house after he runs away, providing shelter to Cordelia and Antonio following the failed assassination plot. Initially, Cordelia treats Curio like a child due to his inability to perform menial tasks, but it seems she is developing feelings for him as they eventually marry and have a child together.
