Volkner, デンジ

In the episode "Challenging a Towering Figure!", Palmer referred to Volkner as someone whose skills would give Ash a shock after seeing him battle. Volkner was first introduced in DP165, and it was revealed that he had met Flint when they were young and became friends. He later designed the walkways of Sunyshore City and other technological advancements for the city. Additionally, he created the Sunyshore Tower which provides electricity to the city. However, after becoming bored with battling, Volkner began giving out free badges to trainers. This changed when he witnessed Ash's battle against Flint, sparking his interest in battling again and accepting Ash's challenge for a Gym battle.
