The protagonist maintains a positive outlook and remains cheerful even when faced with challenges in baking competitions. His inspirations come from various sources, including other Japanese foods and stories shared by his talkative but experienced grandfather, a rice farmer. Additionally, the protagonist demonstrates an unexpected talent for mathematics, solving a complex problem written in sand within less than a minute that took Pierrot hours to solve.
