In Kuroshitsuji, the Joker initially emerges at the Circus Arc as part of Noah's Ark Circus, which is being investigated regarding the disappearance of children. Initially, he appears to be in charge of the main show at Noah's Arks Circus, but later it is discovered that his role is more akin to "a hired shopkeeper." Despite this revelation, many carnies continue to refer to him as their boss due to his leadership in the circus. Additionally, Joker has had one of his hands missing since his youth and was replaced with a prosthetic hand made by the Circus doctor.
