The main character in the story is a second-year high school student named Sakamachi Kinjirō who discovers Konoes secret. He has gynophobia, which causes him to bleed from his nose whenever a girl touches him. His mother and sister have been practicing their wrestling moves on him for 10 years, leading to this condition. The reason for his bleeding is that he believed his mother and sister would stop beating him up if he started bleeding, as his blood would ruin the carpet. As a result of this daily awakening from his sister, Kureha Sakamachi, with beatings, he has become immune to pain. His full name, Sakamachi Kinjirō, creates a pun on the English word "chicken" due to Japanese culture placing the family name before the given name. He is forced to sign a contract with Kanade Suzutsuki not to reveal Konoes secret and find a way to cure his gynophobia.
