Mattia was one of Gaspard's homeless children, who lived with him. He led the other children in their daily activities. Initially, Mattia and Ricardo were involved in stealing, but after meeting Remi, they decided to stop stealing and took up shoe shining as a job instead. Over time, Mattia and Remi developed a close friendship that eventually turned into a romantic relationship. In the most recent episode, Mattia and other children who had been abused by Gaspard were adopted by Mrs. Milligan, an English mother of wealth. Additionally, Mattia made a promise to study hard and become a professional violinist in order to be suitable for Remi and remain with her forever since he is skilled at playing the instrument.
