In the OVA series "A Banquet of Marionettes", Ranka is a shinma who possesses the ability to transform her victims into life-sized puppets and drain their life forces. During the second episode, Ranka pursued Kei Yuzuki, a high school student in Kyoto who was also being chased by Miyu. Despite being aware of Rankas unique power to extend life, Kei requested that she keep him from aging. Meanwhile, Himeko investigated the disappearance of one of Rankas victims and encountered Miyu and Larva at the school. Both Miyu and Ranka confronted each other, but when it was revealed that Kei had chosen Ranka and was transformed into a living puppet, Miyu banished both of them into darkness.
