Yami Yuugi

Yami Yuugi is a spirit from an ancient Egyptian pharaoh who resides within the Millennium Puzzle. His past remains unknown as he has been asleep for over 3,000 years (5,000 in the dub). Later on, Yuugi Mutou succeeds in awakening him after eight years of trying to solve the puzzle. Despite not initially realizing it, Yuugi is actually the Pharaoh himself. In Duelist Kingdom, the Pharaoh requests that Yuugi help him regain his memories and Yuugi agrees to assist him. The story continues in Battle City.
