During the Muromachi period 600 years ago, there lived a powerful and wise samurai named Yoh. He was known for his devotion to "Lord Yoh" ("Yō-dono" in Japanese) and his taciturn nature. Despite dying during a battle with several hundred other soldiers, he remained as a ghost companion to those who knew him. His legacy lived on in the town of Funbari, where he had spent much of his life before his death.
Yoh was also known for wielding the legendary sword named "Harusame," meaning "Spring Rain." This sword was forged by his best friend Mosuke and appeared as a spirit in the anime/manga series. The original Harusame was kept in a museum, while a reproduction of it was used by Asakura Yoh during the Shaman Fight.
Yoh's name is derived from Buddha Amitabha, the principal figure in Pure Land Buddhism. His ghost companion continues to inspire and guide those who seek wisdom and power on their journey through life.
