Although he may appear reserved and soft-spoken, Asahi is actually quite determined and self-assured when it comes to his role as Karasuno's ace. Initially, however, he struggled with feelings of inadequacy and a lack of confidence in himself, which led him to leave the team before the first year even began. Despite this setback, Asahi eventually returned to Karasuno and discovered that his passion for volleyball was stronger than he had initially believed. With the support of his teammates, he came to terms with his position as the ace and gained the self-assurance needed to excel in his role. While Asahi is known for his "heart of glass" personality, which causes him to take criticism and setbacks to heart, he has also shown significant growth and development throughout the series. Despite feeling insecure about many things and sometimes coming across as timid, Asahi has made it clear that he will not allow anyone to take his ace position away from him in the future. This demonstrates his determination and commitment to his role on the team.
