Although Gaspardes right-hand man, Needless, was tasked with assisting him, there were instances where he disregarded Gasparde's orders not to harm the ship. Despite this, their strained relationship has never been publicly acknowledged. It is possible that Gasparde viewed his crew as mere "underlings" and did not value their input or opinions.
