Roto is an unethical warrior who uses deceitful tactics to gain victory instead of relying on strength or skill. He possesses the ability to materialize a large blade from behind his hand. In the initial round of the Dark Tournament, Kurama has the advantage over Roto as he tries to punch him, but Roto keeps referring to Kurama by his human name "Minamino Shuuichi". Just before Kurama is about to defeat Roto, Roto threatens to harm Kuramas mother, Shiori, if Kurama does not surrender. This enrages Kurama, and he inserts a Death Seed into Rotos body when he is momentarily distracted. As a result of the Death Seed taking root and blooming into a flowering plant, Roto is killed. He is classified as a D-class demon.
