Gilbert Nightray and Vincent Nightray are Elliot's step brothers. As the only remaining biological son of the Nightray family, Elliot is their heir. Despite his hotheadedness and outspoken nature, Elliot cares deeply for those around him. He first meets Oz in a library at Ludwidge Academy where they have a disagreement about the idea that self-sacrifice is ever justified or noble. Additionally, Elliot feels resentful towards the Vessalius family because he believes they get away with anything due to their heroic past 100 years ago. However, as time goes on, Elliot's hatred for Oz dissipates and they become close friends.
