Makora, whose real name was Fuuma Kotarou, was Sasukes childhood friend. He sought revenge against Sasuke because he felt that Sasuke had almost killed him. However, the truth was that Kotarou was temporarily controlled by Indara, who caused him to attack Sasuke. Despite this, Sasuke believed that he was defending himself and could not remember attacking Kotarou. Makora possessed the ability to control shadow forces and hide under them. His Kageochi technique made opponents drown in their own shadows. Eventually, Sasuke defeated Makora after realizing that Sasuke did not want to kill him. They had once made a pact of becoming good friends while living in Aokigahara. After learning the truth, Kotarou protected Sasuke from Indaras attack, which ultimately killed him.
