Nadeshiko and Amu attend Kukais soccer practice with Yamada, one of his teammates. During the next match against a highly ranked opponent, Yamada does not make the starting lineup. Feeling inadequate compared to Kukai, he slips away unnoticed. Nikaidou takes advantage of Yamadas emotions and steals his Hearts Egg, which transforms into an X Egg and hatches into an X Character. Amu uses her powers to purify the X Character just as the coach declares Yamada as a substitute starter. With Yamadas help, the team ties the game.
