In Episode 26, Sakura makes her debut. She is inspired by Mizuki to become an idol, just like Ichigo. Her family comes from a renowned kabuki troupe and she has been exposed to various ancient Japanese arts since childhood. Like many members of her family, Sakura possesses the genetic tendency to break into performance when reminiscing about the "Kitaoji Theatre." She is characterized by her calm, polite, and kind demeanor. Despite being friendly and diligent like Ichigo in challenging Mizuki, Sakura initially looked up to Ichigo as her senpai (mentor) at the Academy, who helped her gain self-confidence and establish a friendship with Ichigo.
As of Episode 124, Sakura replaces Otome as the Starlight Queen.
In Episode 38, she formed an independent new idol unit, Powapowa-Puririn with Otome and Shion.
