His method of operation involves killing victims by severing their tongues using his Stand. He takes pleasure in this act and does it for no other reason than amusement. Gray Fly has been recognized as a stand user who causes accidents and takes lives to acquire valuable items. Kakyoin observes that Dio did not require the use of a spore to control him, suggesting that he was likely hired specifically to eliminate the Joestar group.
