In the anime version of "Nanakura Renai no Yona," Tomoko has been Nanako's best friend and source of support since childhood. However, when Nanako is accepted into the Sorority, their relationship and the trust that Tomoko has in her are negatively affected. Unlike the manga, in the anime, this rift is caused by lies told by Mariko, but it will ultimately be resolved, and Tomoko will continue to stand by Nanako's side, encouraging and helping her through difficult times as she always does. Over time, Tomoko also becomes friends with Mariko and defends her in front of others on multiple occasions. The presence of Tomoko in the anime helps to provide a sense of normalcy and allows viewers to maintain contact with reality while the other girls at Seiran base their lives around the activities of the Sorority, making it a matter of life and death for them. Despite this, Tomoko remains true to herself and shines through her simplicity, providing relief to viewers who may be overwhelmed by the intensity of the storyline.
