Pierrot

Abel is a German performer who plays the role of Pierrot in a traveling troupe. He specializes in comedy and laughter, wearing clown makeup on stage and performing various amusing antics such as juggling, acrobatics, and standing on large balls. Despite his playful persona, Abel can also be quite serious and wise at times. He is well-educated and serves as a mentor figure to Nadja, helping her find books in libraries and reading her mother's diary written in German. Although Abel wears Pierrot makeup, he has a tragic past and was once a doctor in an impoverished village. He stole medicine from a hospital to save his patients during an epidemic but had to abandon his family after serving time in jail due to his actions.
