Alvis Hamilton is an unusual 11-year-old child who becomes a target of the Guild. It's revealed that she holds the key to Exile, which leads to her being pursued by the organization. Unfortunately, Guita, the nurse responsible for transporting her, and Ralph Wednesday, the pilot commissioned to do so, are killed during the chase. Claus Valca meets Al when he tends to Ralph after his ship crashes. Knowing that he was going to die, Ralph asked Claus to take on a dangerous mission of delivering Al to Silvana while he distracted the Guild pilot with his engine. In the end, Ralph sacrifices himself by detonating his ship to save the lives of Claus, Lavie, and Al.
