At school, Miyamura comes across as a reserved individual who tends to keep to himself. He's often assumed to be an otaku with strong academic skills. However, in time, his quiet demeanor will give way to him becoming a trusted friend to Kyouko and her closest companions. Despite the weather conditions, Miyamura tries to conceal as much of himself as possible by covering up his tattoos and letting down his long hair to hide his piercings. This changes slightly when he's at Kyoukos house, where he removes his blazer and necktie, ties back his hair, reveals multiple earrings, orders lattes from Starbucks, and wears short sleeves that show off part of his tattoos. In contrast to most characters who wear glasses, Miyamura struggles academically, earning full marks only in P.E. and average grades or below in all other subjects. Despite difficulty with certain Japanese words, he excels at tongue twisters.
