A young girl with a gothic appearance who can sense people's energy fields and emit electric waves. She resembles Arisa in terms of her protective nature towards Tohru, who was the first person to truly accept her at school. Hana is very observant, polite, and enjoys eating. Her nickname "Hana-chan" and manga symbol, a violet with fangs, are humorous due to their relation to the meaning of "hana," which means "flower" in Japanese. Hana has a close relationship with her family who accept and nurture her abilities. Her younger brother, Megumi, looks up to her and possesses his own unique power to prevent him from being the only "weird" one in the family. Her mother seems to share Tohru's protective and caring nature, possibly explaining her attachment to him. In their near-parental protection of Tohru, Hana acts as a maternal figure. During Kazuma's parent/teacher conference for Kyos class, Hana notes that he is "handsome." While Kyo may not be entirely comfortable with the idea of Saki serving as his "mother," she remains protective and caring towards him.
