Kaitou Dark, ダーク・マウジー

The Phantom Thief Dark, also known as Kaitou Dark in Japanese, is an entity passed down to each new male of the Niwa generation at age 14. Once a male experiences love, he becomes dormant for 40 years due to his grandfather's lack of male offspring. Females cannot be the Phantom Thief. This character steals art pieces made by the Hikari family and is in love with Riku, but is constantly pursued by Risa, who fell for him when she first saw him on TV. In the manga, it's shown that Dark was slowly falling for Risa before he said he could "feel" her words in his heart (volume 9). He uses Wiz as his wings because using his actual black wings would harm Daisuke severely. In the anime, Dark tells Risa that he has no feelings for her except as she reminds him of his grandmother, whom he truly loved. His full name is Dark Mousy, though this name is only used in manga character descriptions. In the anime, he's called Kaitou Dark by Krad. However, his real name is Kokuyoku and he is one half of the exalted Black Wings, with Krad being the other half. They were once part of the same artwork and were joined but were later awakened and separated.
