The ghost of a girl who died 400 years ago in an old abandoned school building, named Shizu, is sincere, kind, and very curious about the modern world. She has a severe fear of dogs, similar to Harunas level of fear towards the supernatural. She is often referred to as "Oshizu" (お静?), which is an honorific used for women. When frightened, she can release blasts of mental stress that destroy objects and surroundings. However, she also has the ability to manipulate others through sheer willpower. Her clothing frequently rips apart due to these stress blasts, putting Rito in awkward situations with female cast members. Since meeting Rito and others, Shizu has begun exploring the world outside the old school building. She is aware of Harunas crush on Rito and becomes very supportive towards cheering her into confessing her feelings. After Ryouko creates a prosthetic body for her, Shizu "returns" to the living but occasionally disconnects during moments of excitement, leaving her spirit behind in her prosthetic form. Currently, she works as a nurse for Ryouko while Ryouko maintains her physical body. In the first anime, Shizus presence is limited due to not receiving a new body, while in later releases and the new anime, she has her body as she does in the manga.
