A high school student named Akiyuki lives with his mother after his parents separated due to marital issues. He must take his father's lunch every morning and maintain their relationship despite the separation. Akiyuki has two close friends, Haru and Furuichi. One day, he wakes up late and rushes to deliver his father's lunch, but misses the bus. While on his way to school, he notices a white-haired girl named Nazuna who is unable to board the bus due to missing an armband. Akiyuki gives her the armband so she can get on the bus. When they arrive at school, Nazuna presses a device and blows up the partially filled bus, causing a blue explosion that throws other students onto the ground. In the light of the explosion, a strange blue gem-like object rises from the destruction and lands in Akiyuki's arm. He forgets about it as he helps Nazuna, who reveals she was the bomber. She then presses her forehead to his, causing a red gem-like object to materialize on his forehead. Akiyuki faints, and when he wakes up, his arm has transformed into a white liquid that covers his body, turning him into a white creature called Xamd.
