Masanobu is an Austrian court chef who specializes in jam. He shares a familial bond with Shigeru Kanmuris half-brother and competed against him during the Yakitate! 25/Yakitate!! 9 program to determine who would inherit their fathers yakuza business. Although Masanobu struggles with feelings of inferiority, he is highly competitive and envious of Kanmuri due to what he perceives as an easier life for his brother.
