Tonbo tobitake, a konohagakure chūnin, has bandages covering most of his face and usually smokes cigarettes. he works under inoichi yamanaka in the intelligence core and was trained by mawashi dokuraku. despite appearing cool and collected at first glance, tonbo is confident but not arrogant about his abilities. he can be impulsive and quick-tempered, as seen when he roughed up komaza to make a point. "tonbo" means "dragonfly," which is ironic given that most of his face is covered with bandages. his full name could also mean "flying taketonbo," since "tonbo" means "flying" and "taketonbo" is a small bamboo toy that flies when spun between the palms of your hands. tonbo enjoys yakitori and grilled onigiri, but dislikes crème fraîche.
