Yumeji is the main character of Yumekui Merry. A high school student who received an ability 10 years ago that lets him sense people's dream auras and predict what kind of dreams they will have. Despite being lazy, he has a strong-willed and determined personality with a heart of gold, always ready to help others. He is also part of his school's writing club and an avid fan of the superhero Guricho. While on errands, Yumeji meets Merry when she falls onto him. They enter a daydream together, which is essentially a dream that happens in broad daylight. Although initially hesitant, Yumeji decides to help Merry return to the Dreamworld, and they soon become close friends.
