She was first introduced in The Battle of Aces as "Assailant of Thunderblade" without specific ruby-kanas. Her name contains the word "lightning," which is associated with Fate, and her device is called Vulnificus. In The Gears of Destiny, it's revealed that her rubied name is Levi the Slasher, a pun on "Levin," an archaic word for lightning.
