Avan De Ziniur III was a hero who defeated the Demon King Hadlar. He had previously befriended Princess Flora, the ruler of Carl's kingdom, and Loca, its general. Despite hiding his true power behind glasses, he would often playfully goof off with them. When Hadlar attempted to murder Flora, Avan decided not to hide anymore and protected her and the entire kingdom from the Demon King. After temporarily defeating him, Avan embarked on a journey with Loca where they met Leyla, Maams mother, and Matoriv, a powerful magician. Their victory led them to finish off Hadlar for good. Following their triumph, Avan decided to become a trainer for the next generation of heroes. However, when Hadlar returned to defeat him, Avan cast the Megante spell in self-sacrifice to protect Dai, Brass and Pop. It was later revealed that he had worn a protective talisman given by Flora, which saved his life from the effects of Megante by taking on the damage for him. Having survived, Avan chose to level up to better assist Dai and his other students in their fight against Vearn.
