Captain Falcon's character is often viewed as that of a reluctant hero, even if he continues to hunt bounties. Criminals are still afraid of him, especially in Port Town. There have been rumors that he has retired and opened a shop in Mute City. Although he does not appear in every episode, his role is crucial in the series. His primary objective is to thwart the efforts of the Dark Million Organization. In contrast to video games, "Captain Falcon" refers to an individual rather than a title.

Throughout most of the anime Bart Lemming held this title until he died, then it was passed onto Ryu Suzaku (Rick Wheeler) during the last episode.
