Kayui is a shinobi from Kumogakure who, along with his fellow survivors from Yuruis unit, decided to flee from Ameyumi Ringo after their de-facto leader Nurui suggested it. Although Omoi opposed this decision and an argument ensued as they fled, Kayui tried to maintain peace between the two. Later, when Omoi confronted Ameyumi Ringo, Kayui and Nurui returned with him but were incapacitated by her attack. The rest of the Third Division arrived, and Ameyumi Ringo was sealed in a marsh trap they had prepared. Afterward, Kayui left with the other members.
