Ivan Strugatskaya

Ivan Strugatskaya is the grandfather of Kudryavkas father, Chernushka, and the father of Chernushka herself. Born in Kalingrad, Russia, he worked at Glavcosmos before moving to Tebwa, a former Soviet colony in the Pacific Ocean that was developing its own space program. He later traveled around the world for work, staying in different countries for varying periods. Ivan Strugatskaya had a love for Japanese culture and married a Japanese wife. As a result, he raised Chernushka with Japanese cultural influences and taught her the language. When Chernushka became a cosmonaut on Tebwa, she left Kudryavka in Ivan's care to focus on her career. Ivan then took Kudryavka around the world and exposed her to different cultures while also teaching her Japanese culture and language.
