Yuuji Kanehara works at a drone factory where there's limited communication with the outside world. The staff members have only each other for entertainment and companionship since they are isolated from external connections. Despite this, Yuuji is subjected to bullying and mistreatment by his colleagues. This behavior is condoned by the factory management because it is believed to be a natural part of a healthy social hierarchy and necessary to reduce stress levels among employees, which in turn helps maintain their psycho-passes.
