Luchist, who was formerly the leader of the X-laws and one of Hao's most powerful shamans, is Marco's main rival in the anime and manga series "Hunter x Hunter." Although they were close friends in their past lives as car dealers, their relationship took a turn when Hao intervened. In the anime, this relationship is not mentioned, but in the manga, Luchist follows Yoh to the X-laws base after the deaths of X-III and intends to regain entry into the Shaman Fight by defeating Ren. During the fight between Marco and X-II, Luchist intervened on Hao's behalf and easily defeated X-II before engaging Marco in battle. However, Lyserg and Yoh managed to destroy his Oversoul with the help of Jeanne, causing him to faint. His last appearance is at the Mu continent, where he blocked Yoh and the others from entering the plants. Although the fight was not shown, it is confirmed that Luchist and Marco were both killed during the course of the battle by Lyserg mentioning reviving him in the next chapter. Additionally, Luchist's spirit, Lucifer, has the ability to shatter souls and move at undetectable speeds. It also seems to require a lot of Furyoku as he fainted when Lyserg destroyed his Oversoul once.
