When momoko was younger, she taught at gorous nursery school. after leaving the school, she began dating shigeharu, gorou's dad, and eventually became engaged to him. however, tragedy struck when he passed away before they could marry. as a result, momoko took on the responsibility of raising gorou as a single parent until several years later when she married hideki shigeno and changed her name to momoko shigeno.
