Haradas old classmate, Manon, had a crush on him but due to her family's background from Asakura Industries, she was out of reach for him. Despite this, they occasionally spoke and Manon would always request that their conversations end at a specific time. One day, Manon asked to spend more time with Harada. They spent the day riding on a Ferris wheel but after getting off, Manon collapsed and instructed Harada to take her back to her fathers company. When he did, Harada learned the horrifying truth that Manon was an android created by her father to test theories in artificial intelligence interactions with humans. Overwhelmed with grief and anger, Harada destroyed the lab where the android was made and was later arrested by Kurokawa (who was still a detective at the time). Despite this, Harada kept the program chip that contained Manons programming. Years later, when true Manon inherited her fathers company, she reunited with Harada and asked him to join their A.I division, but he kindly declined.
