Kraft lawrence is a twenty-five-year-old traveling salesman who moves from town to town buying and selling items to make a living. he began working as an apprentice at twelve years old under a relative merchant and started out on his own at eighteen. his ultimate goal in life is to open his own shop, which he has been doing for seven years while gaining experience in the trade. lawrence prefers to go by his surname, but some close friends like jakob tarantino call him kraft. in the novel, holo joins lawrence on his travels and helps increase his profits and get out of tricky situations with her wisdom.
