Keita is seventeen years old high school student who was recruited as Head Diver for Akamatsu Industries after a chance encounter with his childhood friend Hinoki. Unlike typical mecha pilots seen in anime, Keita is rather clumsy and prone to panicking easily. However, he has shown a willingness to put himself in danger to protect those he cares about. He possesses high readings as a Dual Kind, which allows him to pilot a Neuronoid by himself at one point. This ability was due to a transplant of Dura mater received as an infant from Laurier Noir after a serious head injury. Despite his attraction towards several girls in the series, Keita is particularly fond of Hinoki and openly expresses his desire for a romantic relationship with her, despite her often apathetic attitude towards him.
