Detective Leon Orcot is an impulsive young man who becomes obsessed with solving the mystery surrounding a series of unexplained deaths in the area. He believes that Count D is responsible for these crimes and sets out to prove his theory, even if it means going against all evidence and reason. As he investigates further, Leon develops a complex relationship with Count D, despite their differing views on the supernatural. Initially dismissive of any paranormal explanations, Leon's perspective is gradually challenged as the series progresses. He also has a strong sexual drive, which is evident throughout the story. Over time, Leon receives two pets from Count D - a flowering plant and a butterfly - both of which provide him with emotional support during difficult times in his life. Unlike other animals sold at the pet shop, these creatures are not meant to teach their owners a lesson but rather offer comfort and companionship.
