In episode 11 of the series, Canon arrives along with Michio as part of the New United Nations Human Army. They are both skilled Fafner pilots who have undergone rigorous training to become aces in combat. Despite her youth and the traumatic experiences she has faced due to war, Canon is an accomplished warrior whose abilities are a result of years of fighting. She hails from Dublin, Ireland, which was destroyed four years before the series began. Her family was killed during this time, leaving her with no choice but to rely on Hino Michio for guidance and support. Through his teachings, she learned how to become a soldier and survive in battle.
Canon's arrival on Tatsumiya is initially met with confusion and offense as she struggles to adjust to the peaceful environment. However, over time, she begins to understand and appreciate this new way of life. She forms close friendships with Sakura and other pilots, showing a deeper interest in Kazuki as well. Canon is assigned to live with Hazama Youko, whom she slowly opens up to about her past.
Canon's character represents the hope that humanity can remember and return to a life of peace despite having lived through decades of war. She pilots the Babylon Fafner, which is not a Nothung model like those on Tatsumiya. Later, she temporarily takes control of the Mark Drei (III) as well. Overall, Canon's character arc demonstrates her transformation from a hardened warrior to someone who desires peace and belonging in this new world.
